Hello. You've got Rudy. Almost. I'll be honest with you. Seeing how I'm not answering my phone, you're probably not my number one priority, but if you do want to leave me a message I will get back to you eventually. Just might not be for a while. I'll speak to you in a bit, then, yeah?

Got anything you want to tell me about the way I'm playing Rudy? Here's the place to let me know. Don't mind the gif. I really am quite open to anything you have to say.

I also realise that Rudy is a very offensive character much of the time, and has little to no sense of what's appropriate. If you'd rather I avoided tagging you, or just certain characters you play, drop me a comment here. Your comment will remain screened, so there's no need to worry about anyone else seeing if that's a thing that worries you.

- ★ PERSONALITY:
To the casual observer Rudy is loud, obnoxious, and more than a little out of touch with reality. He doesn't appear to put prior thought into anything he says or does, and is rather crass and inconsiderate as a result. He's almost brutally honest, at least about things he deems insignificant or is trying to pass off as such. This is includes things most people probably wouldn't even consider doing, let alone sharing. Such as that he may have stuck his dick in that marmalade. Yeah, that's right. The marmalade you're eating right now. On that toast. Unfortunately that is a real conversation he's had. He has a very poor grasp of what's appropriate in general, and even worse impulse control. He once stole a car apparently on the grounds the man who owned it had a perm. Despite the fact it ended up getting four other people besides himself community service he showed very little regret for the consequences. Unsurprisingly, he is the type of person to cause a lot of irritation in the people around him. Perhaps more surprising is the fact people are still often drawn to him, and even end up fond of him in one way or another.
For all his faults, there is something almost endearing about his front. At least on occasion. He has a decent number of friends, and whilst most of these seem to be formed through forced shared circumstances, they're still maintained outside of that. He's capable of charming girls too. When he first started community service he managed to turn a flat out rejection from one of his fellow young offenders to them making out in well under an hour. He went on to have a sort of relationship with her until her death near the end of the episode, but on the whole he prefers to keep things short. Though he doesn't admit it he's afraid of what will happen if he gets into something more serious. He worries that if he gets too involved he'll meet a girl he really likes and once she gets to know him she won't like him so much after all. Because of this he tends to stick to short flings and one night stands, often testing the water with multiple girls a night when he's at a party. On one occasion he is left unsure which girl used her power to get revenge on him for conning her into a one night stand because he hit it off so well with three different people. He isn't picky the vast majority of the time, but he has shown he can be such as when he decided he wanted to sleep with someone especially attractive for his centenary fuck. Mostly, though, he'll take what he can get, even complaining to his friends about sexual encounters with people he deems ugly or too old for him. This isn't just an occasional thing. Rudy has slept with over a hundred girls at this point, a figure which is proven to be undeniably accurate and not just an exaggeration on his part as result of landing on the receiving end of a power that revealed the number of sexual partners a person's had. He's gained a reputation as a slag among his friends and acquaintances, to the point where Jess laughs and says as such to his mum's face when she admits she'd though Rudy was gay due to not bringing girlfriends home. His personality means a lot of people do dislike him, and for good reason, but he's very good at drawing people in too.
Most of the time Rudy is ridiculous and over the top, and honestly he struggles with seriousness a lot. He doesn't like people seeing his vulnerability, and when he isn't joking around and having a laugh he doesn't feel as though he can hide it. He has a tendency to cover up his concerns in whatever way he can, and hide his failures with exaggerated, on the spot lies. He flunked college completely, yet he tells his parents he studies computer science at university. Not only that, but he claims he's president of the student union, captain of the rowing team, and only narrowly missed out on taking part in the Olympics. His lies are a way for him to try and convince people to like him better, such as when he tells a girl he meets at a funeral he's a caretaker because he's worried she won't approve when she finds out he's on community service. It's only when Rudy genuinely likes or trusts someone he is capable of putting aside his front, and even then finds himself struggling not to fall back on his usual habits. He's a lot quieter, and obviously a lot less at ease, so it's hard for him to maintain. He'll often avoid eye contact, or talk about something theoretical instead of being upfront about what he wants. He doesn't exactly ask Jess out as much as describe an alternate reality where he's less messed up and asks her out and tell her about the future they'd have together. Had she not agreed to go for a drink with him he likely would have laughed it off and pretended he'd been joking later on.
He'd have been hurt, but Rudy's used to putting on a brave face. He's built up a front as a defence for his insecurities, and to hide the parts of himself he dislikes or fears. And boy does Rudy have insecurities. Rudy Too came into being when a storm that granted powers struck and made Rudy Wade's innermost insecurities manifest as a living, breathing person. Rudy Too is all the parts of himself Rudy dislikes most, that he would love to push away if he got the chance. As you might expect, Rudy Too is not the most stable of people being the result of this.
Rudy Too is a pessimist, a hypochondriac, and extremely insecure about himself to boot. He is the living embodiment of a killjoy, particularly when it comes to Rudy One. He shares all of Rudy One's memories, and so you might see how it's quite natural that Rudy Too is at his most critical when it comes to him. Unfortunately for Rudy One, Rudy Too's most critical is extremely harsh, and he isn't afraid to bring up the most deeply personal, embarrassing stories that he can think of. He'll remind Rudy One of his embarrassingly long lived bed wetting habits, or his homosexual teenage fantasies, and basically anything they're ashamed of on some level and milk it for all it's worth.
However, despite his less than tactful approach when it comes to Rudy One, Rudy Too does ultimately want what's best for him even if he isn't exactly the best at demonstrating it. They worked together to get the far darker, far more dangerous third aspect of themselves arrested, and Rudy Too has helped Rudy One out of numerous situations. He takes care of him when he's intoxicated, whether that be with alcohol or more questionable substances. He washes their clothes, visits their parents when Rudy One doesn't feel like it, collects their benefits, and keeps them stocked with essential supplies. He doesn't do it without complaint, but he makes sure it happens all the same. He will also show a softer side to Rudy One when he becomes visibly upset. On one occasion Rudy Too succeeded in making Rudy break down crying after getting arrested. However, he was obviously unhappy in that situation despite his seemingly constant quest to point out Rudy One's every single mistake. He even went so far as to take Rudy One's place in prison so he could go and fix his problems and stop being so upset.
He is softer with other people, too. Far more so than he is with Rudy One and far more forgiving of their faults. Not to say he is perfect in his interactions with other people. It was Rudy Too who landed them with community service after trashing an ex-girlfriend's car when she broke up with him, and he is prone to being mopey and miserable around everyone. He is, however, far nicer around them than he is Rudy One on the whole. This has become more obvious after Rudy Too joins a support group for people with powers and begins to see he can have a life outside of Rudy One, though there are occasions where it can be seen prior to that. The friends he's made from his support group and going out and meeting people who need him has obviously had a hugely positive impact on him. He has a weekly schedule in which he socialises on most days on top of taking care of things for Rudy One. He hangs out with one video game addict to keep him grounded in reality so he can avoid robbing banks and killing people, he helps one lady with her knitting, and regularly visits an elderly man with the ability to switch their ages so he's not stuck lying in bed all the time. He's discovered that listening to and helping people makes him happier and more confident in himself, and even finds it gives him a sense of his own identity. This is a stark difference to his attitude from his first appearance when his life revolved entirely around Rudy One and he didn't see anything much beyond that. He's developed a far healthier attitude in recent times, and you can see the difference. He acknowledges problems he genuinely has rather than falsely diagnosing himself with cancer and other serious illnesses he doesn't actually have. He doesn't isolate himself as much, and doesn't fool himself into think he can fix everything with anxiety medication and sleeping pills. He has people he can consider his friends, not just Rudy One's. He's starting to see himself as his own person, after starting to find himself content for the first time in his existence he's starting to see that as something he wants for himself.
This is a big change for him, and being only almost a year old it's very different. Previously he very rarely talked to anyone who wasn't Rudy One, and outside the other young offenders nobody knew he was anything but Rudy One. Even his chosen name shows how strongly he views his connection to Rudy One. He sees himself as a secondary aspect of Rudy One, a prime example of his usual inferiority complex, but it isn't just that he's a secondary aspect. He specifies the spelling of T double O because he sees himself as much a part of Rudy as Rudy One is. He is Rudy Too. Even with his recent show of independence that is a crucial part of his identity. He shares all of Rudy One's memories and experiences, and even his feelings prior to their split. He still wants to be Rudy. He's just starting to want to be more of his own Rudy. He enjoys having friends and things that are nothing to do with Rudy One, and has expressed his desire to form his own relationship with their parents. His recent resentment of Rudy One has been focussed more towards his lack of willingness to let him be happy as himself and his insistence he doesn't tell their parents the truth. He's mellowed a little in terms of being critical of him, but this has far more to do with his recent desire to be his own person and a shift to viewing himself separately than it does with him believing Rudy One has become a better person.
There was, previously, a third aspect that appeared after the storm. This part of Rudy I would argue was never Rudy as he should be. He was an embodiment of what Rudy fears he could be, rather than what he actually is. Both Rudy and Rudy Too were clearly frightened by him, and Rudy described him as a psychopath. He took great pleasure in hurting people, and at times was shown to become violently angry at things he disliked. Whereas Rudy generally takes out his frustrations on inanimate objects, Third Rudy was imprisoned for biting off a man's ear, allegedly because he didn't listen to him. He also savagely beat a DJ who was playing the Macarena, a song he evidently had great distaste for. One of his dreams was to kill someone, but to Third Rudy it was important he found the perfect victim. Someone he perceived as being beautiful and heartbroken, someone the world had ruined that he could give something “pure” to in killing. He found this in Jess, a girl he was doing community service with, but instead of getting his wish he died at her hands. Being dead and at my insistence he is not a true part of Rudy's personality it may seem like he doesn't bear mentioning. However, I would say he does still provide interesting insight as to how Rudy sees things.
Rudy hates thinking about the things that worry him. He will try and push his problems away. In Rudy Too we see his more grounded fears. Worries that are more realistic and ultimately less problematic, such as worrying his penis resembles a slug, or that if he lets girls get to know him they won't like him. He worries about things like cancer too. In short, things that are much more likely to be true. This isn't what Third Rudy is, but it's still a thing that worries him. Rudy does have occasional violent outbursts despite normally neither being good at or liking to attack people. He probably has a little voice in the back of his head when something makes him really angry, saying how much he wishes he could hurt them. This is not an uncommon thing in people, and is usually short-lived and goes without being acted on. Rudy, however, has a tendency to worry a lot about the things that concern him, and lets them build up. He worries about that aspect of him being a reality, and being able to completely take over him. After the storm that is exactly what happened with Third Rudy. The other two Rudies were able to work together to get him temporarily put in jail, and had Rudy Too believed Third Rudy was truly one of them I'm not sure he would have gone along with this. He tries too hard to get Rudy to accept himself as he is to go along with that had he thought he was as real as he was. As it is, they both distance themselves from things that remind them of this part of Rudy, such as ukuleles since he enjoyed playing them. Rudy Too also pleaded with him to let Rudy One go when he had him trapped inside him, and promised that both of them would leave him. They clearly do not feel the same sense of wrongness at being separated from him as they do each other, and actually feel more wrong with him around.
- ★ COURT ALLIANCE:
Unseelie:
Rudy more often than not doesn't think about the impact his actions might have on other people. It's not unknown for Rudy to show a conscience, but it is rare when you compare it to the times he doesn't. He's done some very bad things in the past, and can't honestly claim that he regrets them. He doesn't seem to care about the fact he's killed and/or covered up murders, for example. There are also occasions where when he does care it's because of how it's caused problems for him. One girl, for example, used her power to make his penis rot off after he conned her into a one night stand. He genuinely did regret hurting her, but had she not used her power on him and forced him to track her down to save himself (or at least his genitals) he wouldn't have thought twice about it.
- ★ ABILITIES:
Emotional duplication. Whenever Rudy feels strong, negative emotions a second version of himself may be forced out of him. This is involuntary and inconsistent, though it is more likely to happen if Rudy has internal conflict and is uncomfortable with his feelings. It seems likely that it's Rudy Too who controls when they split and whether he emerges when Rudy's upset depends on whether or not he has something to say rather than it depending on Rudy's exact level of discomfort. It is shown that Rudy Too is able to manifest in order to escape when Rudy attempts to sell his power to get rid of him. Rudy Too having control over when he appears would also explain why Rudy sometimes has to rush off mid conversation when chatting up a girl doesn't go as well as he'd like when he can keep himself together (literally if not figuratively speaking) under far more difficult circumstances. It takes Rudy Too much longer to emerge after the death of a close, mutual friend they were both upset about, for instance.
His second self shares all his memories, but presents a less confident yet more open exterior. Whereas Rudy will hide away all his fears and insecurities, this second Rudy is far more open to sharing them whether Rudy wants him to or not.
As for merging after a split, Rudy does seem to have control over this though the two of them have to be in close proximity for it to work.
- ★ INVENTORY:
They'll be coming in split, assuming that's okay. So I'm listing their inventories separately.
Rudy:
The clothes on his back, a melted Mars bar, his mobile phone, and his wallet containing £7.58 and a card listing his name, address, and ICE numbers courtesy of Rudy Too.
Rudy Too:
The clothes on his back (pyjamas), a small toy tank.
